Sports Day Raffle

The Parents Association will be raffling off a number of sports related items at this year's Sports Day celebration. The piece that will be gathering the most attention is a baseball autographed by Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield.
Raffle tickets are $5.00 each or six tickets for $25.00. Tickets will be available at the First Day of School and at the Sports Day event.
Puzzle Piece Project-
Higashi parent, Lauren Jones has created multi-colored puzzle piece pins. These pins may be purchased for $5.00.
The "Puzzle Piece Pins" are available at School Receptionist Kay Caroll's desk.

Donation Cards
Donation cards with the message "A generous donation has been made to the Boston Higashi School to benefit children and young adults with Autism." These cards may be kept on hand to honor a colleague, loved one or friend, or, for situations when a donation to a charity is more appropriate than a gift or flowers. These cards cost $50.00 for a package of five(5) and are available from Peg Donovan (Ext.109) in the School's Executive Office.
 
Boston Higashi School Bracelets are available !!

On Wednesday, May 24, 2006 COFAR presented a seminar entitled "Advocating for your Loved Ones" conducted by Collen Lutkewitch and Tom Frain at the Boston Higashi School. The focus was the Massachusetts Department of Retardation (DMR) and understanding it's system inticracies. High Points: 1.) You are an advocate for life your loved one will probably need an advocate for life 2.) Become familiar with, DMR regulations, your case worker and your rights 3.) Keep a "paper trail" (notes, emails, etc.) of your dealings with DMR (emails are great for this) 5.) "Retarded" is just a word None of us enjoys using this word- but, realize you are dealing with the Department of Retardation 6.)
